Oncoquick® tubes

Oncoquick® is a simple, rapid and efficient system for enriching circulating tumour cells detached from solid tumours or malignant melanomas. Oncoquick® combines the advantages of gradient separation by centrifugation (speed and reproducibility at a reasonable cost) with a level of efficiency to match immunobead methods.

Oncoquick® is in the form of a polypropylene tube with a porous barrier inserted above a specially developed separation solution. Up to 30 ml of anticoagulated whole blood is placed directly into the oncoquick® tube and centrifuged. Besides erythrocytes and granulocytes, the separation medium virtually eliminates lymphocytes and mononuclear cells.

The circulating tumour cells are concentrated at the interface. Following collection, the cell-enriched fraction is washed. The tumour cells are then available for all standard research methods. Oncoquick® was developed
