Since 96-well multiwell plates were introduced in the 1960s, their applications for use have continued to expand, so that they are now indispensable for optimising analytical processes. Greiner Bio-One has been manufacturing complete multiwell plates and multiwell strips for diagnostics for 40 years. A large number of 96-well plates are available, with various surface treatments.
µClear® and UV-Star® The development of a brand new, patented technology allows us to produce multiwell plates with ultra-thin films without the use of glue or solvents: μclear® and UV-Star®. This technology eliminates any risk of leakage between wells.
The choice of the most suitable film is a deciding factor in the quality of transparent-based multiwell plates. Strict controls prior to and during manufacture ensure uniform quality. Polarised light retains its characteristics with UV-Star® and is little affected by μClear®. The autofluorescence of the microwell plate is minimised.
